Dr Ultan Duggan

MB BCh BAO, MRCPI, MICGP, MSK Dip

Dr Ultan Duggan is a General Practitioner with particular clinical interests in general medicine, musculoskeletal medicine and men’s health.

He graduated from University College Cork in 2016 with a medical degree (MB, BCh, BAO), followed by Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (MRCPI) in 2019 and Membership of the Irish College of General Practitioners (MICGP) in 2022. He also holds a Diploma in Musculoskeletal Examination and Injury Management (Dip MSK ICGP/FSEM).

Dr Duggan completed one year of his GP training at Buttevant Medical Centre from July 2021 to July 2022 and returned to the practice in December 2023. In 2025, he became Practice Principal.He enjoys the variety of general practice and building long-term relationships with patients, with a focus on providing approachable, thorough and patient-centred care.

Outside of medicine, Dr Duggan has a keen interest in fitness and maintaining an active lifestyle. He plays GAA and regularly goes to the gym.

Dr Mags Carey

MB BCh BAO DTMH MRCGP

Dr Mags Carey is a General Practitioner with particular clinical interests in general family medicine and travel medicine.

She graduated from University College Cork in 2018 with a medical degree (MB, BCh, BAO) and completed her GP training in Glasgow in 2026. She also holds a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (DTMH), with further training in Expedition Medicine. Mags contributes to teaching and medical education and is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer with the University of Glasgow.

Outside of medicine, Mags has a keen interest in fitness and the outdoors.

Mary Riordan

RGN RM

Mary Riordan is a valued member of our practice and has been a familiar and trusted face to our patients for many years.

She is a Registered General Nurse and Registered Midwife, bringing a wealth of experience, knowledge and understanding to her role. Her background in both nursing and midwifery has given her a broad range of experience and a caring, holistic approach to looking after our patients.

Mary enjoys the variety of general practice and takes great pride in getting to know her patients and providing friendly, compassionate and personalised care. Her warmth, experience and long-standing commitment to the practice make her a much-loved member of our team.

Eileen Palmer and Liz Hynes have been part of our practice team for many years and are familiar, friendly faces to generations of our patients.

As the first point of contact for many patients, they are here to welcome you, answer your questions and help in any way they can. Their years of experience mean they know the practice and our patients extremely well, and they are always happy to offer help and guidance when needed.

Eileen and Liz take great pride in getting to know our patients and helping to create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere in the surgery. Their warmth, kindness and dedication make them an invaluable part of our practice team.
