A family practice, established in 1967 by Dr Finnbarr Kennedy and practice nurse and manager Mary Kennedy. In 1998, together with their son, Dr Michael Kennedy, they bought the old Boys National School from the Parish and, while maintaining the character of the building, they converted it to establish a high quality modern medical service to the community.
Today the team at the Buttevant Medical Centre are happy to provide a readily accessible, high quality, and dedicated medical service to it’s community. The team comprises of Dr Michael Kennedy, Dr Elizabeth Brosnan, Nurse Mary Riordan, and receptionists Eileen Palmer and Elizabeth Hynes.
We are a teaching practice attached to the Cork Specialist Training Programme for General Practice.

Our Doctors have a moral and professional responsibility to provide a medicolegal reports upon request from the patient’s solicitor. We provide assistance so the patient can get the benefits to which he/she may be entitled
A specialised medical treatment which requires an assessment, physical examination, blood tests +/- other investigations. It is important to note that patients need to fast for 14-hours prior to schedule tests.
We provide safe and effective way of immunising babies and children against certain diseases. Our experienced nurse administers all immunisations under Doctor’s expert supervision.
